Some Light Reading

I've been teaching the girls one scripture mastery scripture a week.  We mark it on Sunday, with colors and a sticker, and then discuss it for a few minutes every morning that week before they get on the bus.  Jack loves looking through the girls' scriptures and finding the "color pages."  I love the few short minutes when he isn't acting like an angry wolverine.
Savannah also bore her testimony for the first time today.  She was so nervous I thought I was going to have to go up and scrape her off the ground after she passed out.  It was a sweet testimony, and a tender moment for me.

Kingwood Festival

Cei and I wandered around another local festival on Saturday after I finished studying.  Lots of fun vendors and new food trucks to try.

Lunch with Ceilidh

We had our monthly lunch with Ceilidh on Friday.  I brought her Chipotle and we chatted.
As Jack and I were leaving the school, we saw a small bus parked out front.  I walked over to the door to point to the steps and showed him the inside a bit.  He LOVES buses and was excited to peak inside.  Then, a very kind bus driver made his day when she said he could up the steps and sit in the seat for a minute.   He was thrilled.  I waited at the bottom of the steps by the door.  Jack played with the seat belts, checked out the windows, and did his happy puppy wiggle.
Then, he noticed I was still there and started yelling at me to go away.  When I wouldn't leave he turned calmly to the bus driver and said, "Shuta door, please."

Temple Day

It always feels like cleaning breaks are so long.  It was nice to be back again.

Just Another Sunday...

closer to when he might actually try sitting ON the bench.

He did make everyone laugh this week.  After the intermediate hymn, which was an upbeat tempo, he exclaimed, "Yeah, that's good song."  When only the people in front of us heard and laughed, he tried again and yelled, "That's a GOOD SONG!"  Finally, the appropriate amount of people turned around to agree with him and he nodded back at them.

Spring Break: Saturday

My new classes released their information early, so I spent most of the day getting my calendar organized and ready for the next eight weeks of total chaos.
The girls tried an Irish dancing class, and then in the evening, we dropped everything for a girls night to see Beauty and the Beast (I bought the tickets over a week before).  The girls and I loved it.

Spring Break: Friday

The girls wanted to use some of their clothing budget to buy some new clothes.  Cei picked the brightest pair of shoes I've ever seen (see below), and a pair of unicorn leggings.  We grabbed pizza afterward, and then Savannah spent the rest of the afternoon at a play date.

Spring Break: Thursday

We spent the morning browsing at Costco and stocking up on the basics.  And by basics, I mean somehow the girls managed to talk me into buying a cake that could easily feed 20 people (don't worry we aren't quitters; there was no waste).
Cei found this mermaid tail blanket and decided she had to have it.  She also bought Jack one in a crocodile pattern, that looks like the mouth is eating you.  He's loves it, but won't get inside.  He'll lay it over him like a blanket, but when we try to talk him in to crawling inside like a sleeping bag, he draws the line.  Because, hey guys, it is STILL a crocodile after all.
In the evening, we ate in the living room on blankets, and I forced the kids to watch one of my favorite movies.  The girls loved it.

Spring Break: Wednesday

We had the beach day planned for over a week, but Wednesday ended up being really cold.  The kids still really wanted to go, so we grabbed our free Chick-fil-a breakfast and hit the road.
It was even colder at the beach, but that didn't stop the kids from having a great time.

Savannah was even crazy enough to boogie board in the freezing water.
Jack and I kept our toes warm on the beach.
He kept announcing he was surfing.
We spent some time on the playground,

and then decided to have our picnic in the car where it was warmer.

Spring Break: Tuesday

On Tuesday we went bowling, and to another park.

I probably should explain this last weird picture.
There is a little cut out in the trees along this path we walk to get to the park.  The girls think it looks just like an animal exhibit in the zoo.  So every time, they run ahead and pretend to pose as animals, and I have to act surprised and comment on the strange zoo creatures I've stumbled across.
This time they talked Jack into doing it with them, who as usual, had no idea what he was a part of, but is always game to do what his sisters do.
